Department of Transportation (DOT) has maintained the same random drug and alcohol testing for Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) covered employees from the year 2021 for random drug and alcohol rates. Drug testing rates will remain at 50% and alcohol testing rates at 10% for 2022. If you fall under any other DOT agencies and have questions, please call me at (701) 516-3850. NOTE: Employers (and C/TPAs) subject to more than one DOT Agency drug and alcohol testing rule may continue to combine covered employees into a single random selection pool. USCG covered employees may be combined with DOT covered employees in drug testing pools even though the USCG is now part of the Department of Homeland Security.
